SFTP - Overview

OneAdvanced provides secure SFTP (SSH File Transfer Protocol) access to your dedicated file storage area. This guide provides deails on how you request an SFTP service, including the generation of your SSH key, configuring your SFTP client, and transferring files to and from your secure directory.

What is SFTP?

SFTP is a secure file transfer protocol that uses SSH encryption. Unlike FTP, all data — including your credentials and file contents — is encrypted in transit. Please note that each user has access which is restricted to their own SFTP directory (and sub folders) only; users cannot browse any other folders on the server.

IP Whitelisting is Required

Your public IP address must be registered with OneAdvanced before you can connect. When requesting SFTP please include your IP address you wish to whitelist. To find your IP, visit ifconfig.me in your browser. If your IP changes (e.g. working remotely), you must notify OneAdvanced to update the whitelist
