Identity onboarding in Time and Attendance

You can access the Identity onboarding function in Time and Attendance. The onboarding screen can be found in the WINTMS application, using the following steps.

WINTMS -> System -> Maintain Users -> Login Options ->OneAdvanced Identity

If the Identity tab is not available, then the feature will need to be switched on. This can be done through INIEDIT, by navigating to ADVSSO>ENABLEIDENTITY and checking the tick box.

  • Identity onboarding is a simple process of configuring your Identity settings and then enabling Identity.
  • We have included an optional step. You can start the employee and manager sync process to Identity before enabling single sign-on. This gives you the flexibility to sync employees and managers and deal with any data sync issues.
Configure your Identity details

Once your Identity organisation has been set-up by OneAdvanced you will need your organisation reference and to create the API client details. Your organisation reference can be obtained by logging into Identity and navigating to the Organisation details.

Your Identity administrator will be able to complete these tasks by logging into Identity.

Time & Attendance synchronises users via APIs to Identity. By creating the API client, you will generate the Client ID and Client Secret that Time & Attendance needs to authenticate with the Identity APIs. To create your API Client ID and Client Secret, please follow the instructions detailed here. Once generated, this information should be entered into the Time & Attendance Identity onboarding screen in the Client ID and Client Secret fields.

When creating the API client, the following settings should be used:

  • Name (recommend “Time & Attendance”)
  • Type (set to confidential)
  • Grant types (set to client credentials)
  • Roles (User admin) Redirect URLs (not required - use client credentials only and ignore authorization code)
  • Owner email (customer contact details)
